Cycling Tourism in the Cilento

DETAILS

A passion for two wheels that leads you to paradise

Cycling tourists are often defined, quite conventionally, as travelers who explore destinations by bike.

At Baia del Silenzio, we see it a little differently — and certainly not so narrowly.

The cyclist who rides for miles through nature on a mountain bike is someone who, more than many others, feels the need to reconnect with their inner self. Challenging themselves along rugged trails, recognizing their reflection in wind-shaken branches, catching glimpses of sunlight filtering through the forest.

These are the sensations we can help you experience — thanks to the Cilento National Park and Palinuro. And yes, in this case, Mother Nature has been especially generous. We are right in the heart of the park, just steps away from extraordinary places still unknown to most tourists — those who believe a holiday is only a holiday if they never stray far from their comfort zone.

Discovering La Via Silente

Intrigued? Curious to know more? Here it is.

One of the most inspiring ways to fully experience the Cilento National Park is La Via Silente, a route designed for true lovers of nature and cycling.

This is an itinerary of approximately 600 km, divided into 15 stages, allowing you to admire not only the stunning Cilento coastline, but also its majestic mountains — including, for those seeking an even greater challenge, the summit of Monte Cervati, rising to nearly 1,900 metres.

Proposed by the La Via Silente association, this route reveals the very best of the park: starting from Castelnuovo Cilento, crossing forests and plateaus, passing through evocative villages such as Castellabate, discovering the Calore River, and exploring the caves of Castelcivita and Pertosa.

You’ll traverse a rugged, wild landscape, tackle demanding climbs, cross the Alburni Mountains and continue towards the Vallo di Diano.

The choices are endless — and one thing is certain: wherever you go, the horizons opening before you are simply breathtaking.

Gentle Routes: from Marina di Camerota to Baia degli Infreschi

If you prefer a more relaxed pace, no problem at all — the area around us offers countless possibilities.

From Palinuro to Marina di Camerota, from Centola to Baia degli Infreschi, an ancient tuna fishery where freshly caught tuna was once stored in a naturally cool sea cave, every route is filled with emotion.

These experiences are perfect even for those who enjoy easy cycling. The true beauty of this area lies in the variety of routes: coastal plateaus ideal for road bikes, or inland trails better suited to the wider wheels of a mountain bike.
