For over 30 years, Baia del Silenzio has been actively involved in international solidarity initiatives, guided by a simple but powerful philosophy:

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

We believe that tourism can be a force for positive change, capable of creating real value for people and communities.

Our Partnership with CPS

We carry out our solidarity projects in collaboration with CPS, an international volunteer organization inspired by the principles of solidarity, fraternity and human development.

CPS works to promote cooperation between peoples and the integral development of the human person.
The association is based in Castellammare di Stabia (Italy) and operates actively in Senegal, Congo and Peru.

Current CPS projects focus on four main areas:

• Support for children and minors
• Social and healthcare assistance
• Basic and professional education
• Responsible tourism

Over the years, many of our guests have had the opportunity to discover and support CPS through fundraising initiatives organized at Baia del Silenzio.
Those who are new to our community are warmly invited to start following and sharing these initiatives with friends, family and colleagues.

A Concrete Impact: Projects in Senegal

In 2011, CPS completed the Stefano Della Valle Multipurpose Center in Mbour (Senegal).
This center supports the entire village through activities such as:

• cereal processing
• textile production
• juice and jam production

Between 2012 and 2015, Baia del Silenzio supported the “Mother Project”, which included:

Construction of a Maternity Ward, with delivery room and independent services, at the “Varedo” Health Center

• Purchase of medical and healthcare equipment
• Health education and training sessions for women and teachers
• Specialized training for midwives and nurses

The project now extends to the staff of all health centers in the Mbour Health District.

Beneficiaries include 43 women already working in healthcare:

• 8 nursing assistants enrolled in university nursing programs
• 2 midwives trained in ultrasound diagnostics
• 33 midwives trained in essential newborn care (SENN) and the Kangaroo Method

Our Ongoing Commitment

Today, our support for CPS continues through:

• Distance child sponsorship, ensuring access to education and a better future
• Responsible tourism projects
• Support for local cooperatives (GIE – Groupement d’Intérêt Économique): infrastructure, training and microcredit
• Protection of women and minors
• Health protection initiatives, especially in response to the COVID-19 emergency

During the pandemic, families in Mbour (Thiès Region, Senegal) were severely affected: schools closed, informal work stopped, and many families lost their only source of income.

CPS responded by providing:

• food supplies
• personal hygiene products
• support for school expenses, especially for the most vulnerable children

At the same time, CPS operators promoted health awareness and prevention measures within families and communities.
