Who goes to the discovery of the National Park of Cilento has to make a stop in the Archaeological Park of Velia: this place is, certainly, one of the richest places of poetry where you can still feel the ancient Greek philosophy. Central point of trade between Greece and Etruria, lived moments of real brilliance. The Greeks Elea (Velia is the name given by the Romans) was frequented by philosophers of the calibre of Parmenides, Zeno and Melisso. The Acropolis today also hosts theatre performances, too. Among the most valuable architectural elements, stands the Porta Rosa.
